Pregnancy: Part 1

November 22, 2017

I would like you all to meet Erin.  She came into my office in April with the exciting news that she was pregnant.  Now that she had the responsibility of taking care of 2 lives she wanted her body functioning as best as possible.  I sat down with her and we discussed her health concerns, her goals for the pregnancy, the delivery and the health for her and her baby after the delivery.  We were able to come up with a plan tailored to her concerns and her schedule to make the entire process as smooth as possible.

Let’s catch up with Erin, so she can tell you first-hand about her pregnancy.

"I have always been a believer in chiropractic, but I was the “I don’t feel well, fix me doc” type of patient.  I never put the effort in for preventative and routine care, but when I found out the news that not only did I need to worry about my own health, but the health of our new baby girl, I KNEW I wanted to take a different approach to my chiropractic care.  I’m thankful I did.

Dr. Alex presented me with different options tailored to pregnant women, my schedule, and budget.  We determined what worked best for me and I immediately started my care about 3 months into my pregnancy journey.

Over the course of the past 6 months, I have routinely visited Dr. Alex, and I have experienced a really great pregnancy.  I’ve never once had morning sickness, I’ve had less than 5 bouts of heartburn, I’v

e only battled sciatica nerve pain at the beginning of my 2nd trimester for about 2 weeks (we adjusted the care to focus on that area), and I’ve remained healthy and my body has felt great.

Listening to my body and providing it the proper care while it’s experiencing a life-changing event has allowed me to continue to do the things I love.  I played softball until the season ended at 6.5 months.  I continued in golf league through the final night close to 7 months.  I was able to duck hunt at 8.5 months and just recently I got out and elk hunted at 9.5 months!  I don’t think this is coincidence.  I’m a week away from my due date and Dr. Alex and I have been discussing my postpartum treatments for not only myself, but also our daughter.  Our family truly believes that by taking care of our bodies through chiropractic, that Dr. Alex has allowed us to live up to our True Potential throughout all aspects of our lives.

Thanks, Doc!"

Stay tuned as we will continue to give you updates as we move along in the pregnancy and even after!
